This Is How Much Force It Takes To Bend The iPhone 6..!!

Last week Apple released a statement in response to the #bendgate hysteria: “With normal use a bend in iPhone is extremely rare and through our first six days of sale, a total of nine customers have contacted Apple with a bent iPhone 6 Plus.”

Still, people are understandably pissed off. They waited in line for TWO WHOLE DAYS just to get a soon-to-be-deformed phone. Right?

Wrong! Bending the new iPhone models isn’t as easy as it looks in all those YouTube videos. Watch the report below to find out exactly how much force it takes to bend your fancy new phone:

Consumer Reports tested out six smartphones — the iPhone 5, 6, and 6 Plus, the Samsung Galaxy Note, the LG G3, and the HTC One (M8). The iPhone 6 and HTC One bent first at 70 pounds of force. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure my jean pockets aren’t THAT strong. Maybe everyone’s just wearing superjeans or something, I don’t know.

The Samsung Galaxy Note was the strongest of the bunch and didn’t deform until 150 pounds, but it’s worth noting that the iPhone 5 didn’t bend till 130 pounds.

Moral of the story: Your phone is probably fine. #Bendgate is all in your head. And if 70 pounds of force just happen to brutalize your phone, Apple will replace it for you as long as the phone passes inspection  no harm, no foul.
